AMD Radeon Pro Duo Is 1.5 Times Faster Than The Nvidia GTX Titan X
On Tuesday, AMD formally unveiled its most-anticipated and delayed graphics card, AMD Radeon Pro Duo, and for now, it is the fastest and most powerful GPU on Earth.
Being the fastest and most powerful GPU however comes along with a hefty price tag, as AMD Radeon Pro Duo is priced at $1,500. AMD claims that Radeon Pro Duo offers 1.5X the performance of Nvidia`s $1,000 GTX Titan X graphics card.
To show off what Radeon Pro Duo is capable of, AMD has released some benchmark figures in comparison to GTX Titan X. The Graph showcases performance of these cards on 4k for different games, and it comes as no surprise that Pro Duo is certainly winning the performance race.
Radeon Pro Duo is a liquid cooled graphic card that AMD made by combining 2 Radeon R9 Nano in one graphics card. The card also uses HBM memory allowing for unprecedented performance for a far more compact package than a comparable card with GDDR5 memory.
AMD Radeon Pro Duo has a total of 8 GB HBM memory, 4 GB per GPU on a 4,096-bit interface. Clock speed for the cores in Radeon Pro Duo is set at 1 GHz, which means the speed will depend on how much power this card gets.
The Radeon Pro Duo requires a reasonable 350 Watts, previously AMD revealed that they could have designed the card with just two 8 pin power plugs but, decided to add a third for overclocking purposes. This of course implies that overclocking will be much better on Radeon Pro Duo as compared to any other graphics card.
The only threat to this card right now is Nvidia`s Pascal architecture based graphics cards, which feature HBM2 memory with 15 billion transistors, but for now the crown of the fastest GPU in the world is on the head of Radeon Pro Duo.
Do you think Nvidia Pascal could give Radeon Pro Duo a run for his money? Let us know in the comments.
