EKWB Unveils Its Custom Water-block for AMD Radeon Pro Duo
Just a day before the launch of AMD Radeon Pro Duo, EK has confirmed that a custom water-block for this dual-Fiji graphics card is ready. So you will now be able to replace the Pro Duo’s reference cooling solution with water-block made by the premium computer liquid cooling gear manufacturer.
AMD Radeon Duo Pro a.k.a. Capsaicin water blocks from EK Water Blocks are ready to rock. There has never been so much GPU raw power stuffed on a single PCB!
But, you might ask: is there any real need for a Radeon Pro Duo water-block? Prior to answering this, it’s worth mentioning that the latest flagship graphics card from AMD comes liquid-cooled and its reference cooling system is designed by Cooler Master, the same company which made the liquid cooler for Radeon Fury X.
Now, given AMD touts Pro Duo as being the “world’s fastest graphics card,” it’s safe to say that the reference solution on the $1500 Dual chip behemoth would be enough to sustain stable clocks. This means gamers could easily hit 1080p 60FPS, or even 4K, without using any custom made water-blocks.
So we can imagine this EK water-block for Radeon Pro Duo only being used by serious and insane enthusiasts, or multi-monitor, VR gamers who want the highest possible performance out of this graphics monster.
In related news, AMD Radeon Pro Duo’s press deck has leaked on the web, revealing the official specifications of the graphics card. Built on the 28nm process node, the Pro Duo packs dual-Fiji XT GPUs, which are clocked at 1GHz, with the 4GB of HBM1 per GPU at 500MHz, for a total of 1024GB/sec of memory bandwidth. Stunning figures, aren’t they?
