Dark Souls 3 PC vs PS4 Graphics Comparison; The Difference Isn’t That Dire
A couple of weeks ago, Digital Foundry released a video showing the Xbox One version of Dark Souls 3 running at a native 900p as compared to the PS4 version that runs at native 1080p. Today, the gaming website published another comparison video, this time taking a side by side look at Dark Souls 3 on PC and PS4.
It comes as to no surprise that Dark Souls 3 benefits from a much higher frame-rate on PC than on consoles, which don’t exceed 30 frames per second. Whereas, the PC version of the game easily runs at 60fps, provided you have the right hardware.
In addition to the drop in frame-rate, the PS4 also lags behind when it comes to motion blur and shadow quality, as compared to PC. Though it’s not drastic enough and I doubt you’ll notice these once you get stuck in. Other than that, there is no real difference between textures and lighting across the two platforms.
Which means, graphically, the action role-playing video game is doing pretty well on PS4. Judge for yourself by watching the video below.
Dark Souls 3 is set to launch tomorrow, April 12, on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
