Nvidia Zero Latency Display May Change Gaming Forever
Nvidia held a Pascal centric event this week that gave us an insight into what we should expect from the upcoming GPU line. There wasn’t much shared in terms of its gaming features and focus was on its commercial and business applications.
However, Pascal wasn’t all that Nvidia showed. A very interesting and revolutionary piece of tech came up during the event when Vice President of Research David Luebke took to the stage. The man demonstrated a Zero Latency display from Nvidia.
Nvidia Zero Latency Display has 1,700Hz refresh rate.
Nvidia is planning to use this technology in VR to improve motion blur and take immersiveness to its limits.
Below is a video showing Nvidia demonstrating this technology by shaking the Nvidia Logo on screen but it remains locked in one place. Similar to the way we look at something and shake our head at the same time. The object remains locked at one place while our vision moves around.
This is a massive improvement over the usual 90Hz refresh rate a VR headset uses.
