New AMD Crimson Drivers for Quantum Break Improve Performance by 35% on R9 Fury X
AMD has just rolled out their new Crimson Edition 16.4.1 drivers, which are designed to bring a number of optimizations to the recently released Quantum Break PC version for those using a Radeon R9 Fury X.
According to AMD, the drivers will boost performance by up to 35 per cent on Fury X than with Crimson Edition version 16.3.2 which was released just a week ago.
In addition to this, the new 16.4.1 drivers will improve support for head mounted devices (HMDs) including Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. As per release notes, the drivers also resolve the frame rate capping issues experienced in some DirectX 12 applications.
Further, Hitman has received some fixes to its flickering issues experienced when played in DirectX 11 mode using high game shadow settings.
Still, there is an ever-growing list of known issues that remain unresolved, majority of which are related to CrossFire and bugs plaguing Radeon Settings of AMD Gaming Evolved client. Hopefully, the chip maker will iron out these flaws in the next driver release expected later this month.
