Nvidia Scores in AMD vs Nvidia GPU Steam Popularity, So Does Intel CPU
Even according to the AMD vs Nvidia GPU rankings and recommendations we published for the year 2016, Nvidia was in the lead. And now in the Steam users have also voted the same in the latest Steam survey.
According to data collected by Valve Corporation from the PC gamers who use their digital distribution platform, Nvidia is the most popular video cards manufacturer among them. They are being followed by AMD, but as expected, the team red has a very, very long way to go.
AMD vs Nvidia GPU
The Steam survey reveals that a total of 56.35 percent of the surveyed users have an Nvidia graphics card while AMD users are only 25.5 percent. The latter are larger in number than PC gamers who have an Intel GPU (standing at 17.77 percent) though. The remaining 0.38 percent are “other” manufacturers.
What’s even more alarming is that if you compare this with statistics from a couple of months ago (November 2015 to be exact), AMD is actually falling below; their share has gone down by 0.5 percent while Nvidia upped their share by 0.35 percent.
Moving on, the statistics from CPU owners reveal that everyone loves Intel CPU. They have a major share standing at 76.67 percent with AMD lagging behind even there at 23.33 percent. However, since AMD and Intel are the only two contenders on Steam in this case, what else could it be.
A comparison with November 2015 statistics tells us that Intel is increasing its while AMD is losing their market share even among CPU market as far as the surveyed Steam users are concerned.
Which side do you take in the AMD vs Nvidia debate? Do you think AMD’s Zen card will put them in a better shape?
