Nvidia 980 and Titan X Pascal Successors Spotted in India
Maxwell based Nvidia GTX 980 and Titan X Pascal successors will release in the next few months. We previously reported that Nvidia will release pascal based GPUs that will range from $600 to $1100.
Cards of similar prices are now spotted in India, giving merit to our previous report. Nvidia was shipping Pascal based cards from China to its India based testing and validation facilities. We were able to get a hold of the manifest of the cargo thanks to database website, which revealed that three different variants of Pascal based cards were shipped to India for testing.
The per unit price ranges from $600 to $800.
Details show that four difference shipments were made between December 2015 and February 2016.
December 2015 – $669 per unit
February 5, 2016 – $609 per unit
February 2016 – $616 to $752
February 2-4, 2016 – $800 per unit
Two of these cards are successors to Titan X and GTX 980. Most probably the $750 version will replace GTX 980. According to previous reports, there are four different variants of Pascal cards and all of them will use HBM2 memory.
The $600 dollar card will have 6GB of HBM2, 8GB is for $700, 16GB for $900, and massive 32GB HBM2 memory is rumored for $1100 Titan X successor. Of course, the 32GB version won’t be consumer oriented.
NVIDIA co-founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang will be at GTC with a juicy keynote in April, so we should get confirmation os these details during the event. Also, we should here something from AMD by then.
Meanwhile, AMD is holding a Polaris centric event in a few days so we are expecting more news from AMD’s side as well.
