Zotac Unveils World’s Smallest VR-ready PC; Features 6th-gen Skylake CPU and GTX 980
Zotac has unveiled the most powerful, small form factor (SFF) PC that exceeds Nvidia’s minimum requirements for virtual reality gaming.
The ZBOX Gaming Mini PC, called the MAGNUS EN980, features an unspecified 6th generation Intel Skylake processor alongside a desktop-class NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 graphics card to deliver a VR experience in the most compact form factor.
With Skylake CPU and GTX 980 providing full power of a premium desktop gaming solution inside a ZBox Mini PC, Zotac still manages to keep MAGNUS core cool thanks to its factory-installed water-cooling solution. The manufacturer has combined liquid channels, heatpipes and heatfins in a wizardly way so that the heat is directed away from the source to prevent overheating.
Further, the MAGNUS EN980 Mini PC operates at a whisper quiet, which is an icing on the cake for those planning to use it as a living room media hub.
Zotac states in today’s press release:
All the performance is housed by a newly designed case that encompasses function and style. Designed with a functional minimalistic approach, it incorporates the water-cooling system, and the shape and surface dimensions to provide great effectiveness in heat dissipation, further strengthening the cooling process with the help of natural aerodynamics.
As for connectivity, the EN980 includes HDMI and DisplayPort, which together support up to four external displays. Additionally, there is a USB 3.1 Type-C port which delivers up to 10Gbps data transfer rate.
The MAGNUS EN980 will be showcased at the upcoming Cebit 2016 and GDC 2016 in March.
