Raspberry Pi 3 Competitor ODROID-C2 is Much More Powerful, Costs only $5 More
Not only that, Pi 3 is at least 50 percent faster than the original Raspberry Pi. But, there appears to be an even better competitor in the form of the ODROID-C2.
This little beast is just $5 more expensive than the Raspberry Pi 3 and easily manages to outperform it because it has a much faster SOC, among other things.
It is powered by the Amlogic S905 and has four Cortex-A53 cores clocking 2GHz. The 64-bit quad-core SBC also comes with a Mali 450 GPU and 2GB of DDR3 SDRAM.
Moving on, the ODROID-C2 has HDMI 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet, it also supports Ubuntu and Android.
Comparing it directly with the Raspberry Pi 3, this one has a faster SOC with the A53 cores at 2GHz instead of Pi 3’s 1.2GHz. Its 2GB of DDR3 memory also has an edge over the 1GB LPDDR2 memory of Raspberry. Needless to say, it also has the superior Ethernet and HDMI 2.0 unlike Raspberry, and to top it off, ODROID-C2 has a heat sink too.
The ODROID-C2 will start shipping later this month for $40.
So tell us, will you prefer to stick with the tried and tested Raspberry for their new model or go to these guys for their more powerful small form factor system? Let us know in the comments section below.
