Gigabyte Launches 0 dBA Idle R9 380X WindForce 2X Graphics Card
Gigabyte has launched a variant of its Radeon R9 380X G1.Gaming, which features the company’s latest WindForce 2X cooling technology.
Code-named GV-R938XWF2-4GD, the R9 380X WindForce 2X sticks to AMD reference clock speeds of 970 MHz core, and 5.70 GHz GDDR5-effective memory. This latest card from Gigabyte is based on the 28 nm Antigua silicon, and features 2,048 stream processors, 128 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 256-bit wide, 4GB of GDDR5 memory interface.
Talking of the headlining feature of the graphics card, WindForce 2X cooling solution boasts an aluminium fin-stack heatsink that uses three copper heat pipes to draw heat directly from the GPU die, which is then dissipated with a pair of 90 mm spinners.
Further, the cooler is designed to completely shut the fans off when the GPU is idle, thus featuring 0 dBA idle.
The system power supply requirement is 500W which is drawn from a single 8-pin external power connector. As for display outputs, the R9 380X WindForce 2X graphics card include two dual-link DVI, and one each of DisplayPort 1.2a and HDMI 1.4a connectors. The card will set you back $230 US.
