Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 Specs Leaked; 10nm, 8GB RAM
About ten days ago, a rumor had surfaced that the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 might actually kick-start the 10nm size standardization. That rumor had come out of Chinese site Weibo, and now, we have some more leaks regarding the processor from the same source.
It looks like the 10nm rumor might actually have some truth in it. New rumors also suggest the same alongside claims that the processor will support up to to 8GB of RAM. Being on 10nm would make it the first processor to take such a leap.
That being said, the current leaks do not suggest anything relating to the chipset design, Kyro’s processing details or the GPU that is to be used.
However, it would be a little premature to consider what exactly Snapdragon 830 is going to pack since we are all but sure that the manufacturers will want to consider the newer path they have taken with Snapdragon 820 before finalizing details on its successor. Also, seeing as we have only just started the journey with Snapdragon 820, one should expect a number of reconsiderations until the product is finalized.
Some of the upcoming products are also going to give us a good chance to compare the performance of Snapdragon 820 and see whether Qualcomm’s technological implementations and architectural refinements have actually given the processor a bump or not. This will also decide whether they want to follow suit with Snapdragon 830 or not.
