MSI Vortex Packs a Skylake i7 and Dual GTX 980SLI
A number of PCs have been shown off at CES 2016, but MSI Vortex is one that you are definitely going to want to stop and check. There are a number of reasons for that, the first one being the design that is drastically similar to that of Apple Mac Pro, and the second being that it beats Apple in terms of power!
Let’s talk about what it packs first. Proving that it truly is a gaming PC – unlike Apple Mac Pro – it packs not one but two impressive graphic cards in the form of two GTX 980s. Then there is a Skylake i7 6700K CPU and a M.2 SSD storage.
The power supply of MSI Vortex is 450 watt to meet the requirements of the aforementioned specs. 95W TDP is what the i7 is going to want and both the cards will ask for 165 watts each.
When you are packing so much in such a small space, it is bound to require a good cooling system. MSI has introduced a Silent Storm cooling system for that purpose; in this, a good sized fan sucks out the heat from above while an elevated body structure allows the system to get cool air from below.
There also is a slightly toned down version of the system which comes with two GTX 960s – the lesser powerful cards are going to make it available for almost half the price of the other version.
The video below will introduce you well to the MMSI Vortex.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the dual GTX 980 are going to make you pay $4000 for the MSI Vortex.
