SanDisk Announces Dust and Water Resistant Extreme 510 Portable SSD
During CES 2016, SanDisk announced a new portable SSD called the Extreme 510 Portable SSD. The solid state drive is designed to withstand rough travel conditions and still provide fast transfer rate and safe storage.
Moreover, the company has also upgraded a couple of USB drives with increased storage and performance. The Connect Wireless Stick is now available in 200 GB capacity and the Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 is now available in 128 GB capacity.
Aside from storage bump, The Connect Wireless Stick now supports AirPlay with AppleTV, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, and 3D on iPhone 6/6s. Storage-wise, it is also the company’s largest storage drive. The Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0, on the other hand, has seen significant performance improvement and can now reach 150MB/s from drive to computer.
Lastly, the Extreme 510 Portable SSD has a transfer rate of 430MB/s. The device is also dust, water, and impact resistant. It features storage space of 480GB and comes with SecureAccess software that provides 128-bit encryption.
Coming to pricing details, SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick and the Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 are now available for $119.99 and $59.99 respectively while the SanDisk Extreme 510 Portable SSD is available for $249.99.
