PlayStation VR to Have More than 100 Titles: Kaz Hirai
While Oculus Rift is all the rage since yesterday, when the preorders started, Sony somehow decided to let them run the show andd wait ffor their time with PlayStation VR.
However, that doesn’t mean they don’t have a bagful of reasons to push you towards console based VR. Kaz Hirai, the CEO of Sony Corp shared at least one of those with BBC at CES 2016. He says there are about 100 games that are coming to PSVR!
While talking about how things are going with the virtual reality world, Hirai was asked if Sony was sure they were ahead in the game as compared to Oculus Rift and HTC Vive since these two are getting much more vibe in the market right now.
In his reply, Hirai boasted of allocating about 200 people to work on games for the head mounted device which are , collectively, going to be the largest pool of VR titles being made for one platform:
We have more than 200 developers signed up for the PlayStation VR program who are working on probably about 100 or more titles that will play on PlayStation VR, [which] is a testament to the kind of support we’re getting on PlayStation VR. So I think we have a lot of good support, and it will be a great product coming out later this year.
Hirai says that PSVR has more support of third party game developers than any of its rivals and that includes Oculus Rift and HTC Vive both.
