EVGA Announces GeForce GTX 980Ti VR Edition to Deliver High Performance with Oculus
Oculus recently made Oculus Rift CV1 available for pre-orders at $599.99 USD and ran out of entire stock within 14 minutes. However, if you are surprised to see $599.99 price tag, also note that you need a high-end PC to get a playable gaming experience.
A GTX 970 might give you acceptable performance, but if you are looking for something more, EVGA has got you covered! The company just announced EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti VR Edition which promises to deliver high FPS and low latency.
EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti VR Edition is being marketed as the first graphics card that comes with internal VR-Ready HDMI output. This thing can basically be connected with 5.25-inch bay mounted inside the case. This essentially allows you to access HDMI with 2x USB 3.0 ports in order to power your Oculus Rift. However, one thing to note here is that CV1 requires a total of 4 USB ports to turn it on – 3x 3.0 and 1x 2.0. Therefore, you will need more than the front panel to keep using it.
Currently, there is no information how much the EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti VR Edition will set consumers back or when will it become available. We will make sure to keep you updated once we hear something new.
