Samsung Unveils 12-inch Galaxy TabPro S – Intel Skylake CPU and Windows 10
Samsung has announced a new Windows 10 device, called Galaxy TabPro S, that provides all the functionality of a laptop in a tablet form factor.
The TabPro S sports a 12-inch Super AMOLED 2160×1440 multitouch display. It is powered by a 4.5W Intel Skylake Core M processor with a clock speed of 2.2GHz, coupled with 4GB of RAM. For storage, the tablet comes with a 128GB or a 256GB SSD.
There is a 5MP autofocus camera at the rear side of the device, while the front shooter also boasts the same number of megapixels.
The keyboard is included with the device, rather an optional add-on as the case with many other tablets. Additionally, you don’t have to charge the keyboard and the tablet separately. Samsung also offers a Bluetooth pen as part of the purchase, though it doesn’t mention if it gives away any other free accessories.
As for the operating system, the Galaxy TabPro S runs either Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Professional. Connectivity options include the 802.11ac Wi-Fi adapter, Bluetooth 4.1 chip and NFC. The device also supports Cat 6 LTE for fast cellular data connections.
Dimension-wise, the TabPro S measures 290.3mm x 198.8mm x 6.3mm, and weighs at 693 grams (Wi-Fi model) and 696 grams (LTE model). The tablet packs 5,200mAh battery which Samsung claims, can deliver up to 10.5 hours of normal use.
The Galaxy TabPro S will be available starting February, but there is no mention of the pricing details yet.
