Nintendo NX Release Date Shared by Nomura Securities
Although Nintendo has yet to announce anything official regarding its new console codenamed Nintendo NX, according to a Japanese analyst from Nomura Securities; the upcoming console will officially be unveiled later this year.
According to analyst named Junko Yamamura, Nintendo will announce the concept of the console somewhere between March and May, a complete unveil in June – which is when E3 2016 will likely to happen – and the console will release before the end of this year; somewhere near October and November.
Once again, since there is no official confirmation from Nintendo, I would suggest taking this with a grain of salt. There is hardly anything concrete we know of the upcoming Nintendo NX, but earlier this week, the CEO of Koei Tecmo said that the Nintendo NX is going to be home console:
4Gamer: “Lately it seems that [home] consoles haven’t been doing too well, but is that the case? At least that’s what we’re wondering.”
Erikawa: “Actually, I think that it’ll start doing much better. The PlayStation 4 has recently surpassed 2 million units in nationwide sales, and Nintendo announced a new ‘machine’ called the NX. From this point forward, I believe that each company will make clear commitments for these machines.”
Lastly, as reported by Sikandar Mahmood of SegmentNext, the NX release will hugely impact the sales of 3DS and Wii U:
It was also stated that NX will have a huge impact on 3DS and Wii U sales. While I do agree with it impacting Wii U massively, I don’t think it will really hit 3DS hard but of course, I can be wrong.
