LG 8K TV from CES is a Massive 98-inch HDR Beast
We reported on Samsung’s 8K TV only moments ago which they were referring to as the first “real 8K” TV, but they were not the only company talking boasting of those resolutions or massive display sizes. The LG 8K TV is also a beast that measures 98-inch!
The company has been pushing forward their TV range recently and their presentation at CES 2016 was evident of the same. They introduced a horde of OLED 4K TVs and then topped up an already extravagant event with the giant LG 8K TV.
In their own words, it is the world’s first High Dynamic Range (HDR) with eight times the pixels than a 1080p display at a 7680×4320 resolution. It comes with an IPS panel to aid with the colors too!
Also, in order to be able to display 8K content on the screen via a wired connection, the LG 8K TV comes with a Super MHL connection and also WebOS like all of their newer TVs do.
While most of the home electronics companies are wishing to funnel 8K TVs in the market as soon as possible, I can’t help but comment that it might be too early since we are hardly even generating enough 4K content let alone extensive 8K content that could be consumed regularly.
The only downside to their presentation at CES 2016 was that LG did not divulge pricing details on the new 8K TV just like they decided to avoid sharing a public launch date of this beast.
