AMD’s Carrizo-Based Athlon X4 845 and Athlon X4 835 Spotted Online
According to a recent report, AMD might be planning to bring Carrizo to the FM2+ in the shape of new Athlon chips.
Originally spotted by WCCFTech; Gigabyte seemed to have leaked a couple of Athlon processors in its CPU support list for motherboards using the latest Excavator 28nm core architecture.
The report further reads that the two processors are called Athlon X4 845 and Athlon X4 835. Both the processors are 28nm Excavator brand and come under Carrizo family of processors. These chips are first ones coming to desktop platforms despite having several CPU and APU models on the mobility platforms.
Coming to specifications, both Athlon X4 845 and Athlon X4 835 are quad-core chips boasting 4 MB L2 cache and 65W TDPs. The clock speeds, on the other hand, are not currently known as of this instant!
Currently, there are no pricing details or possible release window available, but the report is suggesting something near sub-$90 USD or even lower than that.
Another important thing to note here is that it is very well possible that these chips will launch exclusively in China as witnessed on several other instances. People residing in the US and UK maybe out of luck, but we will make sure to share more once we hear anything official.
