You can Buy Asus ZenFone Zoom in the US Starting February 1
Announced back in January 2015, Asus ZenFone Zoom was released by the Taiwanese phone maker in its home country earlier last month. Now, the company is ready to launch the handset in the US.
Built around an aluminum frame with a textured leather back, the ZenFone Zoom is designed to be a premium device, even more appealing than the Asus ZenFone 2 series. As obvious from its name, the highlight feature of the phone is its 13 MP rear camera that features 3X optical zoom, laser auto focus, OIS, and dual LED flash, coupled with a 5 MP front-facing shooter.
To show the capability of its optical zoom, Asus recently posted an image comparing three photos: the first was taken using the ZenFone Zoom, the second was taken with an iPhone 6 Plus, while the third was shot with a Samsung Galaxy S6. Obviously, the photo snapped with the 3X optical zoom of the ZenFone Zoom looks better in terms of image quality and detail.
Besides photographic features, the ZenFone Zoom sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display. The handset is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3590 Processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage space on board, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot.
Unfortunately, it appears that the ZenFone Zoom will be launched running Android 5.0 Lollipop, rather than the latest Android Marshmallow. The device is driven by a 3000 mAh battery.
Asus ZenFone Zoom will be available for purchase in the US starting February 1. Initially, the handset will be sold only via B&H Photo Video, with a price tag of $399.99 (unlocked).
