Nexus Devices Face Syncing Issues with InBox, Gmail, Google Now and More
We have picked up word that a number of Nexus users are facing issues syncing their device with some Google based apps. The exact expanse of the issue is not known yet, but it is expected that a considerable number of people have been affected.
What has been ascertained, though, is that all the users who have faced these problems had updated their devices to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Although there are a bunch of handhelds that have reportedly been affected, NExus 6P is certainly among the list and we are looking to confirm other models. That being said, as a result of the syncing issue people are either not receiving emails properly or they are not being notified about them in a timely fashion.
Issue Tracker has about 150 complaints regarding the Nexus syncing issue at the moment and since the problem is persistent, we suspect the number will grow.
Another user says that if he stops using his phone for about half an hour and then tries to send an email to himself, he doesn’t get notified for it.
On the basis of this, it is being speculated that the problem might have something to do with Doze, the battery management system of these phones.
As of now, people have tried factory resets, cache wipes and even rolling back to earlier builds of Android but nothing has worked.
We have also stumbled upon Google representatives talking to people at the Issue Tracker website suggesting that the developers are working on the problem though no one will tell how long it could take for them to spill out a fix.
