Mark Zuckerberg to Make Household AI Like Jarvis from Iron Man
It is a fact that even without getting there, many of us have started fearing artificially intelligent systems going rogue on humankind. But, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg rejects that, and in 2016 he is going to be working on his own version of a household AI system that would be simplistic version of Jarvis from Iron Man!
Robert Downey Jr. will be mad.
The founder of Facebook took to his profile saying that “like Jarvis in Iron Man,” building a “simple AI to run my home and help me with my work,” is going to be his personal challenge for the new year.
He went on to explain the ambitious idea that he wants to work on saying it could do things like voice controls, facial recognition of guests, automation of lighting, heating, locking and so on.
On the other hand, the household AI he is planning to make could help him analyze data using virtual reality (of course he is talking about the Oculus Rift here) and last but not the least, keep a check on Max.
I’m going to start by exploring what technology is already out there. Then I’ll start teaching it to understand my voice to control everything in our home — music, lights, temperature and so on. I’ll teach it to let friends in by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell. I’ll teach it to let me know if anything is going on in Max’s room that I need to check on when I’m not with her. On the work side, it’ll help me visualize data in VR to help me build better services and lead my organizations more effectively.
What do you think of a Facebook owned household AI working around you?
