Samsung Releases 128 GB Galaxy Note 5 in South Korea
When the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ released back in August, many found it a little strange that there was no 128 GB version of them. After all, the earlier released Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge did give that option.
Storage-hungry users will be pleased to know that the Note 5 finally has a 128 GB internal memory version. Sadly, those storage-hungry users will have to go to South Korea to obtain it.
It’s termed as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Winter Edition, and is available from today onward via SK Telecom and KT, two of South Korea’s largest mobile operators. The handset will come in two colors: the conventional gold platinum, and the fairly popular silver titanium.
The price of these is around 999,900 KRW (which equates to roughly $846 USD). The Winter Edition of the Galaxy Note 5 doesn’t seem to have any other unique feature aside from the additional storage.
It’s not clear yet if Samsung will release the 128 GB variant of the Galaxy Note 5 in other markets all over the world. A general guess would be that they’d look at how successfully this beefier Note 5 will sell in South Korea, and base their decision to release it worldwide on that.
