Qualcomm’s 24 Core Server CPU Launched
Back in October, Qualcomm had announced their entry in the server CPU market with the unveiling of their own 24 core server CPU. However, that was about two months ago, and now the company has officially starting rolling their product to some!
This release marks almost a year since the project was originally announced by the US based semiconductor company.
However, currently they are only offering samples to a selection of clients instead of a full commercial launch, and from the looks of it, they want to wait before actually sharing everything with the general public.
Details are scarce about their 24 core Server CPU, and Qualcomm has not even shared the model number or official name of the CPU.
They did tease that in the future the cores might be increased even further, though.
It is a fact that the target market of such machines is going to be much smaller, with machine learning and mega data mining being in the front lines. However, mega corporations are bound to get interested in Qualcomm and their new venture into the field of server CPUs.
They intend to play a major role in the said market which can be gauged by the efforts they have made in making a new factory functional in China for the purpose.
We will be updating you about the 24 core CPU as soon as some official word comes out; stay tuned until then.
