Gigabyte Releases Twin Turbo Fan Edition Of GTX 970
Despite all the negative press after its release, Nvidia’s GTX 970 still remains one of the best GPUs for 1080p gaming and Gigabyte’s models, especially the G1 Gaming 970 are totally worth their price due to that extra clock speed. Now as if there already weren’t enough 970s to choose from in the market, Gigabyte is launching yet another version with their exclusive blower design.
The GTX 970 with Twin Turbo Fan, codenamed N970TT-4GD will be similar to other GTX 970s in the market for most part. It will have 4GB of GDDR5 memory at 7010MHz, core clock of 1051MHz and a boost clock of 1178MHz. The GPU has 1664 CUDA Cores and a 256-bit memory interface.
The unique blower design with its bidirectional air intake boasts effectively increasing air flow by 24% and improving cooling performance by 29% when compared with the reference GTX 970 design. While the top side of the GPU does look similar, it is missing a backplate which might be a big downside for people since other Gigabyte GTX 970 models do feature a backplate.
For display, the GPU features the same ports as other 970s, 1x dual-link DVI, 1x HDMI and 3x DisplayPort. The power requirements are also similar with a 400W PSU required alongside one 8-pin external power connector to power up the GPU.
There is no word on the price or launch date of the GPU yet but hopefully it will be available by the end of the month and priced closer to the other models.
