Android 6.0 Headed To Xperia Z5 In January 2016, Older Devices To Follow
From the looks of it, Sony users might finally be getting their hands on the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, and somewhat earlier than expected if a recent tweet by Ricciolo (who is well in touch with inside industry news) is to be believed.

The update will, as expected, start with Sony’s flagship smartphone, Xperia Z5, as early as January 2016. The older Xperia devices will also receive the update eventually over the course of a few months although the Z series might be the first one to get the updates.
While the update may feature Sony’s flavor of Android 6.0 with its unique look and exclusive features, it will still retain all the original features and enhancements from the official stock Marshmallow update available to Google Devices.
Among the new and improved security enhancements, Android 6.0 brings with it features to Xperia devices such as Android Pay, the ability to pay at retail stores through a virtual account on smartphone without transmitting debit/credit card details, Google Doze that improves battery life by reducing background process when device isn’t in use, and Fingerprint Scanner for devices that support it.
