AMD Radeon Crimson Edition 15.11.1 Update Released, Fixes Fan Speed Lock Issues
It’s just been a week since AMD released its Radeon Software Crimson Edition, and it has already scored a staggering 2.5 million downloads, showing the great interest the community has towards the new drivers. In addition, the company’s Crimson Edition-related videos on YouTube have been viewed almost 250,000 times.
AMD revealed these stats while announcing an updated Radeon Crimson Edition driver package, called the Radeon Software Crimson Edition 15.11.1 Update.
“As part of the Radeon Software Crimson Edition rollout, we promised to actively solicit user feedback, rapidly respond to software issues, and execute quick-turnaround software updates,” AMD said in a blog post. “We’ve been proactively monitoring the forums and online activities and our dedicated software team has been working on reproducing, debugging and fixing these issues since the driver release.”
The release brings fix to the fan spin rate lock issues that some users experienced earlier. The issue apparently caused the GPUs to overheat as they get locked at a certain speed, around 20 per cent, or less, regardless of temperature.
Further, the 15.11.1 software update adds a number of stability improvements, and brings fixes to many new AAA games, various UI glitches as well as advanced settings bug. Click this link to read the full release notes for the hotfix update.
