Amazon Announces A Massive 48% Discount On Core i7 5930K Processor
Intel’s mainstream Core series processors, even the top of the line chipsets, are still only limited to 4 cores and 8 total threads. While this does get the job done in most cases, it is not an ideal solution for heavy multi-threaded work and Intel doesn’t seem to be all that interested in increasing their core count, although they have released a few processors that cater to individuals who need more cores.
Now the trouble with these processors is that since they aren’t common enough yet, not only are their prices high but also the total cost of a workstation grade motherboard and RAM ends up bringing the entire system to way above if someone was to go for a quad core processor.
For these certain individuals who are interested in heavy load stuff such as video rendering and editing, Amazon UK just announced a pretty decent price cut for one of Intel’s Haswell-E family member, the Core i7 5930K processor.
With a discount of 48%, bringing the price down to £390, 5930K with its 6-cores, 12 threads and 15MB cache size, should be an ideal upgrade for people looking for more multi-threaded performance and don’t want to spend money on a quad core Skylake 6700K processor which pretty much costs the same.
Not only is 5930K just as useful as major Skylake processors in mainstream uses such as gaming but also has its own benefits for heavy grade work that requires system power higher than what any other mainstream Core series processor can provide. With a comparative price, its purchase should pretty much be a no brainer if someone is looking to jump from their old 2nd or 3rd gen Intel processors.
