Apple Pencil Teardown Reveals Folded Logic Board, Twin Emitters and More
Ever since Apple Pencil was launched, people have taken two opposing sides. There are some who don’t like the idea of a stylus going with an Apple product and then there are some who are super excited about it since the company boasts it is much more than just a stylus.
That being said, it would make sense to see what’s under the hood in this thing, right? Time for a teardown!
In the video below, you will see iFixit pulling apart all the small pieces of the APple Pencil to expose what it comes with. While you can check out the video itself, we are going to let you know of a few of the things that have been found here.
Firstly, the logic board used in the device is the smallest that has ever been seen and weighs less than a single gram. Also, the thing is so small that it still had to be folded in half in order to fit inside the case.
Secondly, the device comes with two emitters that are used to keep a track of the angle and orientation of the Apple Pencil.
It has an outer plastic case but inside there is a metallic one too. Even smaller than the logic board is a sensor in the nib to keep track of the pressure.
The only sad part is that it cannot be fixed once you damage it.
