AMD’s Latest Catalyst Drivers Improve Fallout 4 Performance
While the PC port of Bethesda’s recent title, Fallout 4, is in no way a shoddy port and performs really well on all sorts of systems (minus the occasional crashes which are pretty much a trademark when it comes to Bethesda games), the performance has been somewhat disappointing for AMD users, especially when using Godrays. Thankfully, with the latest AMD GPU drivers, that issue seems to have been solved.
With the launch of the new Catalyst 15.11.1 beta drivers for AMD graphic cards, Overclock3D decided to benchmark the game once again and it turns out there is a massive performance boost with the new drivers although at sub 4K resolution, the GTX 980Ti still manages to outperform Fury X.
As always, the driver also fixes various bugs and issues and provides performance improvements for other games as well, with the latest ones being Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Star Wars Battlefront.
It’s good to see AMD continuing to improve their driver support, something the company was criticized for a lot in the past, and providing early drivers for latest games similar to Nvidia’s GameReady drivers.
