Fallout 4 PS4 Version Plagued With Frame Rate Issues And Long Load Times
Fallout 4, Bethesda’s long awaited wasteland RPG, will finally be releasing tomorrow but that hasn’t stopped the game sellers, as is the case with almost every physical edition of a console game, from breaking the street date and handing out the copies to eager fans.
However, those fans who were excited to jump right into the game world and forget all about the real world might be having some trouble doing so due to many reports of severe frame rate stutters and incredibly long loading times for the PS4 version.
Now just because reports have poured in about the PS4 version doesn’t mean that the issues aren’t plaguing the Xbox One version. In fact, given Microsoft’s console’s hardware, it is highly likely that these issues might be more severe on Xbox One.
According to a thread on NeoGaf, the game struggles particularly when players are inside a building and the frame rates in some cases (when the player aims down sight or gets shot by enemies) even drop to single digits which is a pretty huge difference from the 30fps that the game was advertised to have.
There are frequent stutters in the outside world as well and clearly shows the game is far from solid 30 FPS, something that Bethesda’s Pete Hines claimed quite recently. The Day One patch for the game also doesn’t seem to solve the issue.
@Mathew_J_Cooke solid 30 FPS. I play it all the time. I think you'll be pleased.

As for load times, some users have reported the loading times when entering or exiting buildings to be around 30-40 seconds while even more than 40 seconds in the case of exiting into larger areas like The Wastes. The game intro itself which has the Bethesda logo takes around 20 seconds and resuming from a save file takes around a minute.
Fallout 4 will be officially available tomorrow, November 10th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
