Speed Comparison: New Xbox One UI 50% Faster Than PS4 XMB
Since the release of Xbox One, almost everyone has had the same complaint with the console and that is the UI is pretty sluggish. No matter how much they all enjoyed Microsoft’s latest gaming console, the UI and its over reliance on a good internet connection (even if you had a good connection, lot of UI features were very slow to respond) pissed everyone off.
To fix this very issue, Microsoft announced the new UI which would supposedly be better than the earlier one since it is based on Windows 10, which also naturally meant it would release after the launch of Windows 10.
The new Xbox UI, titled New Xbox One Experience, will be heading to general public soon but users who are a part of the Preview Program can test it out right now and having personally used the new UI, I have to say it’s a major improvement and makes life very easy, although it can be a bit tricky to understand earlier on.
So how does this new experience (although still not fully done) fare against PS4’s XMB interface? Well the answer lies with the recent speed comparisons courtesy of WCCFTech. According to a video on YouTube, the loading and action speed such as opening friends list or starting a party in the NXOE version 290915 is about 50% faster than the same actions on PS4 firmware 3.0.
Microsoft had already claimed that the new interface will be atleast twice twice as fast with its response time compared to the old one.
The ‘New Xbox One Experience’ will kick off on November 12. The November update also marks the launch of backwards compatibility for the Xbox One. At launch players will be able to play over 100 Xbox 360 games on Xbox One with hundreds more in the months to come.
