PNY Releases Anarchy X DDR4 Gaming Memory Sticks
The standardization of faster and more efficient memory in the form of DDR4 is expected to happen quicker than ever with the arrival of Intel’s Skylake processors and associated motherboards.
PNY is prepared for this transition to the number 4, and have released a variety of DDR4 powered RAM sticks. Called the Anarchy X DDR4 modules, they come in a variety of different capacities and speeds.
The DIMMs of the sticks come at different options, varying between 2400MHz to 2800MHz with a CAS latency of CL16 at 1.2V and utilize high-quality ICs. You also get these cool looking heat spreaders that are somewhat shaped like a chainsaw’s teeth. The design obviously emphasizes its use for gaming. Just be careful when you’re pushing the RAM sticks into the slot, as they do seem a bit pointy.
The pricing of the 16GB (4×4) is listed at £139 including VAT.
The price of DDR4 memory has decreased noticeably in the past few months. Unfortunately, it might be an additional few months till it actually starts to become comparable to common DDR3.
A large part of this delay goes down to poor value-for-money of the Intel Skylake series of processors, primarily due to the lack of supply.
Hopefully, the prices should drop once sales reduce and the stock increases, which should also in-turn reduce the prices of DDR4 RAM.
