Nvidia Offers $100K Giveaway In Preparation of GeForce Experience Integration
Nvidia is heavily promoting its GeForce Experience, and in doing so has announced that it is giving away over $100,000 USD worth of prizes as a part of its campaign to convince PC users to encourage them to join the GFE program.
Nvidia sees its GeForce Experience as ‘single-source destination’ for PC gamers with new features like news, early game access, and giveaways, basically acting as a hub for managing hardware and software features.
The more important and pressing matter though is that Nvidia plans to lock up its day-one game ready drivers behind GeForce Experience. This means that only folks registered and using the software will have the privilege of downloading their game-specific WHQL drivers that arrive on a respective game’s launch date.
The direction Nvidia is heading towards with GeForce Experience makes many PC Gamers uneasy, as comparisons to Apple’s iTunes have become common, making it an isolated yet unfortunately mandatory software with more and more features grafted into it that cannot be used independently.
Nvidia’s giveaway program is encouraging gamers to sign-up to GFE before mandatory registrations start in, and are specifically targeting this time of the year in preparation for the dense November videogame release window.
The prizes for the driver download giveaways include copies of titles such as Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Black Ops III, and also hardware that includes the GTX 980 Ti, GTX 960, and GTX 950 graphics cards.
Nvidia hasn’t yet announced when exactly the giveaway kicks-off or when it ends.
