Huawei Mate 8 to Run Kirin 950 SoC, Reveals GFXBench
Everyone is expecting Huawei Mate 8 to be one massive beast when it comes out, and according to the newly released GFXBench details, that expectation was not a stretch.
It has been revealed that the upcoming smartphone is going to be sporting a Kirin 950 SoC which is the first chip that is being made by Huawei itself. Not only that, the chip is believed to be much faster than Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 making it one hell of a powerhouse.
It was previously reported about the Kirin 950 SoC that Huawei P9 is going to come bearing the chip, now, it appears P9 is not the only one.
Other than that, GFXBench also revealed specifications relating to the hardware of Huawei Mate 8. Most importantly, Quad-core Cortex-A72 will be running at 2.2GHz (not 2.4GHz).
The smartphone has a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB of internal storage, 6-inch display, 1920×1080 resolution, 16MP primary camera and Android Marshmallow 6.0.
It is expected that Huawei will officially release more information about the device themselves soon, but until they do these should be sufficient to gauge what can be expected.
Regardless of anything else, the inclusion of Kirin 950 SoC in Huawei Mate 8 is definitely going to up the game for the device when it is compared for power with others.
