Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10576 Available Now, Brings Media Casting Support to Edge Browser
Gabe Aul, vice president of Windows Engineering Team announced a new build of Windows 10 Insider Preview yesterday which is now available for users on the Fast ring of Insider updates.
Build 10576 brings with it a host of new features and bug fixes as usual but the biggest new and exciting addition to Microsoft’s latest OS is the inclusion of Media Casting for the Edge browser.
With the new Insider build, users will be able to cast audio, video and picture content from the browser to their Miracast and DLNA enabled devices over their home network. Microsoft notes that streaming audio services like Pandora and video sites like YouTube are supported, however, protected content from streaming video sites like Hulu and Netflix is blocked.
Ask Cortana support has also been added to PDF files viewed within the Edge browser, allowing users to highlight and content and call up additional information by giving out voice commands to the Windows 10 personal assistant. A newly updated Xbox app is also part of the upgrade, one without the memory leak issue that would occasionally cause BSOD in Build 10565.
Performance of nested virtualization functionality also seems to have been improved in this build. It’s the ability to run a host Windows 10 machine with a virtualized copy of Windows 10 running on yet another virtualized copy of Windows 10 (Windows-ception because yes we know it sounds extremely confusing).
