Microsoft Office Getting New Skype Related Features Along With Chrome Integration
Windows 10 brought with it, as expected, a new version of Microsoft Office and last month that new Office received another update that integrated Skype chat with the whole Office suite. Well now it seems that the integration is going beyond simple messages as video calling and voice chat integration would soon be available as well.
The functionality will first be made available to Office Online and Outlook.com users and then some time later for those using the desktop version of Office 2016.
This however isn’t the only news regarding new Microsoft Office features on the way. Users of Google’s web browser, Chrome, will also be getting an extension that adds support to create and open Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Sway files directly within the browser.
Similar to Office Online, OneDrive will also be integrated with Chrome to store data on the cloud.
A new update for Office users on Android devices also reduces footprint by 40 percent and improves the sign up and sign in process for better consumer experience. General improvements to Office Online include an enhanced navigation pane for large Word documents, formatting improvements for Excel, and performance improvements for PowerPoint.
