Android 6.0 Headed To HTC Devices Before The End Of 2015
It looks like HTC’s flagship smartphones might be beating their Samsung and Sony competitors when it comes to the availability of latest Android 6.0 OS, codenamed Marshmallow.
According to a leaked roadmap, a number of HTC devices including the HTC One M8 have been confirmed to receive Android 6.0 by the end of 2015, most probably last week of December. However, since the updates are sent out in waves, there is a high possibility that the first wave might begin sometime in November.
The update for HTC One M8 has all been confirmed by HTC themselves since Bluetooth Special Interest Group published a new certificate yesterday, green lighting the Marshmallow update for One M8 although without any concrete launch date.
While roll out dates can never be confirmed until the company announces them and are subject to change, it is highly likely that the update should be available over-the-air for atleast a few One M8 devices in a few weeks while the others will be getting them in waves over the next month.
Availability of Android 6.0, especially this early, is a pretty good news for HTC users since they will be able to test out the new OS much sooner than other manufacturers and benefit from the many new features, highly improved battery life and security changes included in the new firmware before the year ends.
