Yamaha Unveils Experimental Motorcycle Riding Robot
Ok it may have had many delays but it seems as if the Judgment Day from Terminator franchise will finally be happening and probably pretty soon. Atleast that’s what it looks like after the recent unveiling of Yamaha’s Motobot at Tokyo Motor Show.
Definitely something that would create ripples in not only the world of bikes but also humans and robotics; the Motobot as the name suggests is a motorcycle riding robot with one aim, be the fastest bike racer out there.
In a creepy video message that rivals Ultron himself, to legendary rider Valentino Rossi, Motobot claims to be aiming to surpass the professional racer one day and for that purposes it ‘trains’ every day. Still in experimental phase, Yamaha has released a few details about Motobot who was shown riding a 1000cc R1M superbike without any assistance or human control.
According to Yamaha, their aim is to build a robot that can ride a motorbike on track just as well as a racer and possess the ability to compute its surroundings, control the complex motions of a bike at high speeds with amazing accuracy and precision.
But it’s not that they will be mass producing robots and then having them race each other or try to win against humans in MotoGP World Championship. The main purpose of this development is to help the company create a testbed for rider safety and support systems which they can implement in their other products.
