First Images of Samsung’s 18.4-inch Galaxy View Tablet Leaked Online
Rumors regarding Samsung’s massive 18.4-inch tablet have been making rounds since the start of this year. Announced back in September, the first images of the Galaxy View tablet have now leaked online, thanks to the renowned tipster Evan Blass from @evleaks fame.
The gigantic Samsung tablet appears to be more of an entertainment-oriented device designed for living rooms. From what we see in the images, the device either has a speaker grill or a carrying handle on the back, along with a pop-out kickstand.
Featuring fairly slim bazels on the sides, the tablet is built to be an ideal replacement for a small television set, and is outfitted with the latest tech to make the viewing experience all that much better.
As for the specifications, earlier reports suggest that the Galaxy View would sport a Full HD (1920×1080) display resolution. Under the hood, it features a 1.6 GHz Exynos 7580 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM.
The tablet will apparently come equipped with 32GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card slot. There is a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter with Full HD video recording support, but being a humongous laptop-like tablet it won’t have rear-facing camera unit.
At the moment, we have no details whether the Galaxy View tablet will launch with Android Marshmallow or Lollipop OS out of the box. The tablet operates on a 5,700 mAh battery and supports quad-band 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS and Cat.6 LTE.
If the now-defunct preorder page of Adorama is to be believed, the device will be priced at $599 – which seems quite reasonable considering the 12.9-inch iPad Pro sets users back by $800.
