Intel launches Complete NUC Mini PC – 2GB RAM, 32GB Storage, Windows 10 OS
Intel has just launched its first-ever complete, off-the-shelf PC, called the NUC Mini PC NUC5PGYH, that offers neat specs and features for a price tag of $255.
While Intel NUCs have been around for years, most of these are barebone machines that didn’t really have much on them other than a processor. To get up and running, consumers would have to source components such as RAM, fixed storage and operating system (OS).
This all has now changed with the latest Intel NUC5PGYH, which comes as a complete mini PC offering buyers a “tiny but mighty package.” The key specs of this new Intel NUC include a 2.4GHz Intel Braswell Pentium processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and 32GB of eMMC storage on board with a drive bay that allows users to add an extra hard drive or SSD if they want more storage capacity.
The mini PC comes with Microsoft’s Windows 10 pre-installed out of the box, with support for other OSes including Android and various Linux flavours. Further, the new NUC PC sports a slew of connectivity options: four USB 3.0, HDB15 VGA, HDMI 1.4b, Gigabit Ethernet, audio combo jacks front and rear, SDXC card slot, Intel 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4 and Wireless Display.
This compact system measures just 4.5 x 4.4 x 2 inches. Both the PC and its power supply are wall-mountable, the former using a supplied VESA mount bracket. Unlike the barebone versions, the latest NUC Mini PC requires no installations and is ready to run as soon as you plug in a monitor, mouse and keyboard. The fully-equipped model is available now, for $255 at Amazon US.
