Asus PRO Clock Tech is Designed to Improve Skylake OC
With the introduction of the next generation motherboards based on chipset Z170, Asus has developed a new technology to improve the overclocking of Intel Skylake.
The new tech is Asus PRO Clock which consists of a dedicated Base-CloLK (BCLK) generator that is able to bypass the limits of the maximum of 170MHz BCLK imposed by Intel (default is 100MHz), allowing to set the clock speed up to 400MHz.
The Asus PRO Clock works in conjunction with ROG’s TurboV Processing Unit (TPU) that operates on the section digital DIGI+ VRM and manages the supply voltage of the CPU as the shystem no longer has Skylake FIVR.
The PRO Clock coupled with DIGI+ VRM provides for more specific and precise overclock mechanism by minimizing the steps of reboot, thanks to the instant overclocking option. In addition, it improves the stability and the potential of OC in extreme conditions as BCLK presents very low values of jitter.
The Asus PRO Clock is available on motherboards Asus Maximus Z170 series VIII, and Pro Gaming Signature.
