Intel Releases New HD Graphics Drivers For NUC Devices
Intel has released a new HD Graphics driver package, version 188.8.131.5200 which adds support for 6th Generation Intel Core CPUs with Iris Graphics 540 and 550. The update however is only compatible with NUC board and kit models mentioned in the Release Notes of the update. The update requires Windows 7, 8.1 or 64 bit version of Windows 10.
The update not only adds support for the Iris Graphics technology but also fixes many bugs and issues with the previous build. The resolution bug which caused the system resolution to change to 1024×768 after a reboot has been fixed now.
In addition to that, no graphics corruptions will be encountered while playing video via Movies & TV and changing display mode, or when running 3DMark DX12 API Overhead Feature Test, and the Windows camera preview screen won’t flicker after switch to camera or video.
Further, system should no longer hang when playing Youku video in Internet Explorer. The missing audio bug from external monitor after plugging in a HDMI cable has also been fixed.
The installation process is simple, users just have to download the appropriate package for their system and perform a system reboot after successful installation for all changes to take effect properly.
