BlackBerry Priv Specs Revealed By British Retailer
We’ve heard plenty of rumors about the first ever Android powered BlackBerry cellphone, the BlackBerry Priv, but haven’t really had anything concrete on the specs… until possibly now.
A British retailer called Carphone Warehouse has started pre-registration for the BlackBerry phone, almost revealing its complete spec-sheet.
According to the retailer, the sliding, Android powered BlackBerry will have a 5.4” Quad HD AMOLED display with a curved glass. It’s going to be powered by a Qualcomm 808 Snapdragon hexacore chipset with an Adreno 418 GPU. It will also come with 3GB LDDR3 memory, and onboard 32GB space with an option for an SD card.
As for the optics, the BlackBerry Priv will come with an 18 megapixel rear camera with a dual-LED flash. The camera is apparently certified by Schneider-Kreuznach, manufacturer of photographic optics. The front camera is a rather low and disappointing 2 megapixels, but we hope it has a good enough aperture size for decently clear shots.
The phone is to be powered by a 3,450mAh capacity battery, with Android Lollipop 5.1.1 running out of the box when it launches next month.
Of course, there’s also that well-known sliding keyboard, which is said to offer added privacy options, probably through a fingerprint scanner.
