Sony Releases Configs For Making Android 6.0 M ROMs For Xperia Devices
Android ROM developers can now make custom ROMs for a variety of different Sony cellphones, as the firm has published Android 6.0 Marshmallow AOSP configuration and binary files for some of its most well-known models.
The phones included in the Open Device program are Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z2, Z4 Tablet, and also the newly released flagship Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact.
The Open Device program allows ease of access to users to run third-party developed ROMs on the devices. This is possible for all Android smartphones, but the program greatly decreases the additional hassles required to bypass a phone’s security prior to ROM flashing.
Owners of Sony smartphones will also be pleased to know that the tech giant has confirmed that it will be releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its devices. Unfortunately, those devices don’t contain all of Sony Xperia family members, which is why flashing a custom ROM and the AOSP configuration publishing would prove useful to respective users.
You can get further details about the AOSP release from Sony’s Developer Website.
