Eurocom Announces Sky X9 Laptop With Desktop GPU And CPU
Eurocom, a Canadian based high performance notebook manufacturing company, has announced a new machine, named the Sky X9. The gaming laptop is one of the recently launched notebooks in the market to feature the desktop version of Nvidia’s GTX 980 graphics card.
Not only this, the X9 will also come equipped with the massive power of a desktop processor instead of a notebook one. Armed with the desktop Skylake Intel Core i7 6700K processor and 64GB of DDR4 memory, the X9 might very well be the most powerful laptop out there.
The Sky X9 is also the first laptop, thanks to Eurocom’s innovation, to feature upgradable desktop graphics support inside it. The GTX 980 installed in it can also be overclocked for a performance gain. Not only does the notebook have an upgradeable graphics card but also a socket based Intel processor.
“EUROCOM Sky X9 users can now have desktop CPU and GPU performance in a laptop to easily carry with them in a backpack,” said Mark Bialic, Eurocom President.
The laptop also features 4 storage drives providing various upgrade options. Two 9.5mm HDD or SSD bays and two M.2 SSD PCIe x4 SATA drives are supported with RAID 0/1/5/10 availability with a total storage of 5TB as of yet.
While focusing on performance, it seems as if Eurocom definitely didn’t ignore the looks of the machine. The Sky X9 has 8 color options of its keyboard and lighting so that users can customize their machine to their own liking.
The display also provides user a choice between 1080p and 4K over a screen size of 17.3 inches.
According to the official website, the Sky X9 is expected to launch on November 30th with a price tag of above $2600.
