Samsung Galaxy J3 Appears in the First Benchmark; HD Display and Snapdragon 410
It seems that Samsung is readying to debut a new device in its Galaxy J series, one of the cheapest of the company’s product portfolio. The device should be the Galaxy J3, that is already in the air since the beginning of year, but so far has not yet materialized.
The phone, codename SM-J3109, has recently appeared on two benchmark platforms, GFXBench and Geekbench. From the results, the J3 appears to offer a great deal of upgrades over the affordable Super AMOLED-packing Galaxy J2. Here are the key technical features of the upcoming Galaxy J3:
- Display 5″ HD 720p (1280 x 720 pixels)
- SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916:
- 64bit CPU quad-core Cortex-A52 @ 1.2 GHz
- GPU Adreno 306
- 1.5 GB of RAM
- 8 GB of integrated storage
- Main Cam 8MP
- Front Cam 5 MP
- Single SIM Card
- Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
The Galaxy J series comprises of an entry level device (J1 then J2) and a high-end device (J5 then J7), but no mid-range. The Galaxy J3 is likely to fill that hole in the J linup.
That being said it could be awhile before the new device hits the shelves considering how new the Galaxy J2 still is. Needless to say, we’ll keep you updated with any new information on the Samsung Galaxy J3 as more leaks surface.
