Parallels Desktop 11 Updated For Mac OS X El Capitan
Even Mac users will admit that the functionality and compatibility that Windows offers is unparalleled which is exactly why a lot of Mac users prefer to have a virtual machine installed on their systems so they can gain benefits of Windows as well, albeit in a virtual environment. One such software, Parallels Desktop 11 was released back in August for Mac.
Parallels 11 brought with it the much sought after Windows 10 integration along with fully functioning Cortana to Mac OS. Parallels 11 recently got updated to build 11.0.2 which brings with it Windows support to the latest OS X build, El Capitan.
Instead of having to dual-boot into Windows, users can simply run Parallels on top of their current running Mac desktop and use Mac as well as Windows features side by side. It also allows copying and pasting of all sorts of data between Mac and Windows.
Having fully functioning Cortana assistant (provided the users have the appropriate supported region selected in their Windows settings) is a great deal for Mac users. Even though Apple has its own assistant in Siri, but she is only available to iPhones and iPads and not for OS X, making desktop and laptop users feel left out. Well no more thanks to Parallels 11 and Cortana.
Other benefits of Parallels 11 include key performance improvements such as:
• Windows boot up and shutdown time 50 percent faster
• File operations inside Windows environment improved by 20 percent
• Virtual machine suspend is up to 20 percent faster
• Improved battery life in Travel Mode
• Improved network performance
