Facebook Adds Video Birthday Wishes For iOS Users
Being the most commonly used social media site, Facebook is always trying to introduce new and unique ways for friends to stay connected. Whether it’s writing posts on a friend’s wall or sending them a message through the Messenger app, new ways to communicate with friends and loved ones keep rolling in.
Perhaps that is why the newest birthday related update might be one of their best ones to date. Seemingly available only to iOS users as of now, the new update allows them to record a 20 second video clip to wish “Happy Birthday” to their friends or family. Writing a birthday wish on their wall is so 2010!
To record the video, users simply need to tap the record button next to the birthday reminder. The birthday wish can then be reviewed before posting it to their wall.
While this may sound pretty cool right now, it might get really annoying soon especially if someone has hundreds of friends all wishing them with video messages. That will be a massive amount of video posts flooding the wall! Let’s hope has some way to filter out these videos, or create a separate tab that keeps all these video wishes away from the main wall and prevents overcrowding.
