Reddit Launches A “Redditorial Publication,” Upvoted
People who love to keep themselves updated with the latest news from around the world, do know about Reddit. The popular website has launched a new platform called “Upvoted.”
You can think of it as a digital magazine with original pieces inspired by the community, yet created by the Reddit team. According to Heath Black, product lead at Reddit:
We have an editorial team that only works on the Upvoted content. They have editorial oversight into what we write. They will scour every nook and cranny on Reddit on a daily basis to find the coolest stuff, conduct interviews with the creators, and even in some situations orchestrate video AMAs or podcasts.
Some content on the website looks to be sponsored, which isn’t surprising at all. Users can expect to see AMAs, videos and podcasts on the website.
The weird part, however, is there doesn’t seem to be any way to comment on the website. It is possible that this feature may get added later, but it is odd that it isn’t there from the get go.
Upvoted has similarities with Diggs and BuzzFeed, which isn’t a bad thing I guess. Anyways, visit Upvoted and share your impressions below.
